The Game Goes On
Since November I have been playing one video game almost exclusively World of Warcraft. A fun game not anything like the single player game, but it does keep with the history of the three preceding real time strategy games. It is made by Blizzard the makers of arguably the most fun game with everlasting playability Diablo II.
World of Warcraft is is a MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game), which means that there are thousands of other people playing with you at the same time on a server that is almost up 24/7. So it is unique that if you stop playing for a week, the server moves on without you and there may be some catch-up time required. There is also a monthly fee involved (anywhere from $10 to $20 a month).
WoW is the second MMOG I played, the first being Ultima Online. This was the first big MMOG and I played that for 3+ years. I still think that was one of the most fun and engaging games I have ever played. Now it is nowhere near the genius it once was.
So last week when a co-worker got to the end of the Nintendo game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, I had to reload my save game 93 percent of the game finished. (There was a spot I couldn't get past 18 months ago so I stopped playing it) Surprisingly I got past that spot almost immediately and solved the game.
Then of course I had to get the sequel Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within. A bit different than the first, and still as much fun as ever! It is good to get the dust off the 'Cube.
